The Quiet Strength of a Fishing Family

The Quiet Strength of a Fishing Family

Our family built a solid foundation for our children by raising them on the water. For us, the ocean has never been just a place of work—it's been a classroom, a sanctuary, and the backdrop to our daily lives. Our kids grew up watching their parents rise before the sun, haul gear, and do whatever needed to be done. They learned early that hard work isn’t something to fear; it’s something to be proud of. It’s the kind of lesson that can only be taught by example.

Chris is a second-generation fisherman who grew up surrounded by both fishing and the hearty fishermen who shaped him. He began his career picking wild oysters at just 16 years old, and 38 years later, he’s still at it. Over the decades, he has fished for everything from oysters to dogfish, adapting with every shift in the industry. His experience across multiple fisheries has been a cornerstone of his success. In a world challenged by overfishing pressures and increasing regulation, Chris’s ability to diversify and pivot when necessary hasn’t just kept him afloat—it has allowed him to thrive.

But beyond the hard work and the long days, there’s a peacefulness that comes with working on the water. The quiet moments before dawn, the way the sky changes with the tides, the rhythm of the waves—these are the things that root you, steady you, and remind you why you do it. Our children grew up with that calm woven into their days, learning that even demanding work can bring a deep sense of peace and purpose.

Together, as a family, we’ve built more than a livelihood—we’ve built a legacy grounded in resilience, dedication, and a deep respect for the water that has always sustained us.
